Book Excerpt

At a period of time when I thought my wife passed away because of the tragedy of 9/11, what immediately came to mind was how was I going to exist without her, how would I raise my children without a mother, how was I going to survive. Financial stability or instability never entered into the picture-I was emotionally affected. I speak from a family’s point of view when I state, money is not a primary thought. Personally, upon reflection, I was comforted with knowing that we had a survival plan in place should we ever encounter premature death.

The greatest lesson I’ve learned during these last several years has humbled me because I realized that even with the best laid out plans, life happens. People die, people lose jobs, people separate, people start over, and people lose everything. What separated our family from others is the belief that we could start over, even in the midst of the storm.

Having a life plan is critical and in my opinion, one cannot avoid taking the necessary steps to ensure financial stability during the different seasons in life. Everyone should take a step back and evaluate where they are standing periodically to ensure they have the greatest opportunity to move forward in life.

Even in the midst of the storm we encountered during this last season, my dependency upon God has always comforted me in knowing that I am a survivor for I know that He is always with me. This book, The Ultimate Plan…is a result of our personal life journey helping us to realize that life happens.

I encourage every individual who desires for their life to be different, to take action immediately and follow through on the plan you put in place. The opportunity to get your life in order can only be fully maximized if you take action.
