Reverend Dr. Nicole B. Simpson, CFP®, is a practitioner with over thirty years of experience in the securities industry, which she entered in 1991 and holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses. On September 11, 2001, her life was drastically altered while working as a financial planner on the 73rd floor of 2 World Trade Center. Simpson was still on the 44th floor when Tower 2 was struck during the World Trade Center attacks. Today, she compassionately assists families in beginning their journey to recovery when faced with catastrophic, unexpected disasters. She is actively involved in spiritual, emotional, and economic empowerment. As a compelling speaker, television and radio personality, and author, Ms. Simpson travels throughout the United States, teaching in a practical and easy-to-understand manner. Her straightforward approach motivates everyone who hears her message to take action to change their future. Her commitment encourages individuals to reflect on the thought, “If money were not an issue, what would be your life’s purpose?”
Pastor Nicole’s life began to take shape when she turned seven years old. Gifted a Bible by her mother, she spent much of her time in her room reading the highlighted words, which sparked her interest. Those words taught her to do good to please God and how to pray. Through scripture, she learned to seek God’s comfort in the midst of every storm. Like many individuals, she has experienced unexpected, significant personal tragedies that emotionally and financially impacted her entire family. What is critical but often avoided is the experience and willingness to share strategies for overcoming unexpected disasters that can stagnate one’s personal life due to a crisis. “How does one pick up the pieces of their life and move toward their ordained purpose?” She provides answers to these questions and offers perspective on the necessary steps to initiate the recovery process.
In January 2016, she embarked on a new journey as the Pastor of Micah 7 Ministries in Piscataway, NJ. Her media profile includes appearances on TEDxMaviliSquare in May 2023, ABC News, CNN News, BBC World News, the Huffington Post, Crains NY Business, Fox News, PBS, and UPN 9. She serves as a Board Member of the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning Diversity Advisory Group, Chair of the Generation X Community Association, and Provost of the Dare 2 Dream Institute. Frequently speaking on the lecture circuit, she has authored several books on financial and life planning. Two of her books Dare 2 Dream and The Quiet Shift, earned Third Place in the BookFest Awards and were featured on the NASDAQ billboard in New York's Times Square. Additionally, The Quiet Shift received recognition as an International Book Award Finalist for 2023 in the Health: Aging/50+ category and won the inaugural Literary Global Book Award in the Health: Aging/50+ category.
Her commitment to financial education and planning was acknowledged as she was named Investopedia’s Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors for 2022 and 2023, and Investment News Hot 100 for 2023. She was also recognized as a finalist for the Investment News Woman to Watch Trailblazer of the Year and received an honorable mention from Invest in Others as Trailblazer of the Year in 2023. In November 2023, she released a strategic leadership guidebook titled Out of the Woods, Put Some Respect on Our Names, co-authored with her sister. In December 2023, she was featured again on the New York Times Square billboard for her many accomplishments. Her latest release, Breaking Free From Financial Trauma, quickly soared to Amazon’s bestseller list upon its release in September 2024.
In December 2024, Dr. Simpson was named Thought Leader of the Year at the Luminaries Awards and won the MYCPE ONE Excellence Award 2024 as a Mover and Shaker in the Accounting Industry. She earned a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership with top honors from Boston University, a Master of Divinity Magna Cum Laude from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science Cum Laude from Oral Roberts University.
